Tapestry Handbell Ensemble
$5 lunch will follow
The eXtra Years of Zest group is open to anyone 50 and older (or younger) who enjoy getting together for various activities that include visiting museums, historical places, the local zoo and Botanical gardens, movies, summer parties, arts & crafts, educational events and activities that promote spiritual and physical health. Events are updated on the website, as well as the XYZ bulletin board by the mailboxes on the administration wing of the church. We are happy to pick-up folks who cannot drive or no longer like to drive. Suggestions for activities are always appreciated. Please contact Lisa Cross, Lay Pastor for Older Adult Ministries for questions.
The XYZs are a senior adult group at St. Andrew, with Lisa Cross as the leader/organizer. Contact Lisa to suggest an outing/activity.
At 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, The XYZs (and all who are interested) have been invited to tour the Truitt House, an elegant 1909 mansion located in downtown Suffolk. We will have coffee and dessert after the tour. The Truitt House, a bed & breakfast, is located at 204 Bank Street. For pictures and details, please check out their website at thetruitthouse.com. The cost for the tour and dessert is $10. Please sign-up at the XYZ bulletin board so we
can give the owner, Ruth Baker, an accurate head count.
Afterwards, we'll walk 1 1/2 blocks to downtown Suffolk's Main Street for the monthly Suffolk’s Premier Arts, Retail and Cultural (SPARC) Initiative event (sparcva.com), a retail sales gallery featuring local artists and creatives that showcase a variety of handmade, original artwork, gifts, jewelry, and home decor.
There are several new restaurants in downtown Suffolk, if you want to stay afterwards for an early dinner.
April 29 - Monumental Methodist Church Noonday Concert Series - Tapestry Handbell Ensemble. Concert begin at noon and a $5 lunch follows each performance. Carpooling suggested. Please, as always, email Lisa Cross at the Lay Pastor button below, or sign up at the church on the XYZ bulletin board.
