Our worship services

We offer two worship services each Sunday. Our 9:00 a.m. Contemporary Service is led by a praise and worship band and features contemporary music projected on a screen above the pulpit. Our 11:00 Traditional Service features the time-honored order of worship and standard hymns led by our sanctuary choir. The pastor’s message and children’s message is the same at both services.  Faith formation classes for all ages begin at 9:50 a.m.  Find our class descriptions here: A Nursery is available from 9:00 – noon for infants through four year olds.

What should I wear?

We at St. Andrew have a wide variety of fashion tastes. During the 9:00 am contemporary service you can find folks wearing everything from jeans to business casual to suits and ties. The 11:00am traditional service tends to have people wearing more traditional attire (skirts, dresses, suits and sport-coats) but others will be more casually dressed as well.

What should I expect when I walk inside?

Our Greeters will do their best to make you feel welcome and at ease when you enter our church home. They will introduce themselves and welcome you to our service. Additionally, you are encouraged to check out our Visitor Center where you will find more information about our church and the many programs we have to offer! You can sit anywhere you like in the sanctuary. Friendship pads are passed down the pews to members and visitors alike and if you give us your contact information and want to know more about our church someone will reach out to you.

When and how do we serve Communion?

The Lord’s Supper is usually served the first Sunday of the month, as well as at other special times of the year. We have an open table (meaning all may participate). Our church officers serve the congregation in the pews.

What about my children?

St. Andrew believes strongly that children play an important role in the life of the Christian community and, because of this, we offer a wide variety of options for you to consider.

  • Infants through age 3 may stay in our Nurseries located in our Preschool Hallway adjacent to the Sanctuary where they will be cared for by childcare providers.
  • Children 4 and five may remain for the first part of our worship services which are  geared toward them and they play an active role in the sanctuary. After the children’s message, four’s and five’s may either stay with parents in the pew or they can go to Nurseries under childcare provider supervision.
  • We also have a crying room just around the corner of the sanctuary where parents can go with their infants and yet still be able to see and listen to the sermon.

Steps to Joining a Presbyterian Church

Joining a PC(USA) church is done in one of three ways:

  • A public profession of faith (and baptism, if not previously baptized)
  • A certificate of transfer from another church (the church office will make the transfer request of your former church)
  • A reaffirmation of your faith

Welcome! We are so thankful you are interested in joining St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Please speak to the Pastor about this, or indicate your desire on our friendship pads and you will be contacted. The Session (our governing body) is charged with accepting new members into the church, and will, ultimately, take action on your request.

Depending on the method of joining, there is training with the pastor of 1-3 meetings. You will be asked to attend the first part of a session meeting, tell us about yourself, ask any questions or share any thoughts you may have, and session will vote to admit you as a member.  Finally, you will be introduced to the congregation at a Sunday morning service.
