One of our core ministry values is “Serving Christ by serving others in Christ’s name. The Service Committee and St. Andrew in Mission, with the help of team leaders and volunteers, sponsors and supports many opportunities to serve at St. Andrew and in our community. You will find many of these opportunities described in the "Care" drop-down menu. Explore these to see where God may be calling you.
GIFT CARDS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
The Welcome and Care Committee will once again be sending our college students gift cards as a way of letting them know we are thinking about them and wishing them well on their final exams in December. Preparing for exams can be a stressful and overwhelming time for many. We would like to send each of them a $10 gift card so they can unwind and enjoy some social time during the studying process. A little fun time can go a long way! Next time you’re out, pick up a gift card to Chick Fil A, Starbucks, Subway or Panera … and place it in the office mail box of David McKercher or Angela Snyder before Nov 17. (Or give them directly to David or Angela) Monetary donations will also be accepted for the committee to purchase gift cards. (Make checks payable to St. Andrew with a note Care Package Donation.) As always, the Welcome and Care Committee appreciates all you do and for your donations.
We now have this sign in the churchyard, so that someone who is hungry and needs a meal can find one nearby in Suffolk. They insert their zip code, and it tells them the nearest place for a free meal.
What is THAT white collection bin doing in our parking lot? “I was naked and you clothed me.” ~ Matthew 25:36
Soles4Souls provides shoes to people who need them most. "Because a good pair of shoes can help someone step out of poverty." Session has agreed to host a collection container for this non-profit organization as a way to help those less fortunate have clothing for their "naked" feet. Soles4Souls collects primarily shoes and reconditions them for those less fortunate all over the world. They also maintain this
unit and pick up the donations. If you have shoes you rarely use or are ready to pitch but still have some life left in them, please consider
dropping them into this collection bin. For more

In scripture we are encouraged to pray without ceasing. Find out about our prayer ministry on the Caring for our Church Family page.
Finally, we care for the bodies that God has given each of us. We are grateful to our Parish Nurse, Amy Gray, whose blog, Temple Tips, guides all of us to healthier lifestyles.
